[Hunan Today] HUTB Goes Deep into the Community to Continue the Spirit of Lei Feng

Science and Education News · Hunan Today Client (Reported by Reporter Chen Jie and Correspondents Li Wanqiong and Li Chong) On the afternoon of March 6, Party Committee of School of Public Administration and Human Geography, HUTB together with the General Party Branch of Internal Medicine Department of Second Affiliated Hospital, Hunan University of Chinese Medicine, the Party Branch of Wanglu Community in Wangchengpo Street, Yuelu District, Changsha Heritage Social Work Center and Changsha Renxin Social Work Development Center, jointly carried out regional party building to serve the community residents.
Student party members of school and members of Student Youth Volunteer Association packaged and made beautiful flowers for 70 community female residents and expressed the blessings of student party members to female community residents. Associate Professor Xiang Xiuying of the school brought wonderful lectures on family parent-child relationship to community residents, and consulted residents on family parent-child relationship. Faculty and student party members also carried out voluntary services such as haircut, massage, nail trimming, hand care, sewing clothes, electrical appliance maintenance, mobile phone use consultation, sanitary cleaning, hand-made skills, and good books reading. The colorful voluntary activities have been praised by the community residents and solved the practical problems of the community residents.
Chief Physician Peng Sujuan, Secretary of General Party Branch of Internal Medicine Department of Second Affiliated Hospital, Hunan University of Chinese Medicine, the linkage unit of regional party building of school, led eight famous medical experts from respiratory department, oncology department, acupuncture and massage rehabilitation department, respiratory medicine department and neurology department to provide free clinic for community residents. The benevolence and excellent skills of doctors who are Party members have been highly praised by community residents.
In April last year, the Party Committee of School of Public Administration and Human Geography, HUTB and the Party Branch of Wanglu Community formally signed an agreement on regional Party building. Since then, more than ten large-scale Party building activities have been jointly carried out, serving more than 500 community residents. In the future, the Party Committee of school will continue to take regional Party building as the guide, promote the Party building resources and services to buildings and courtyards, so that residents can enjoy various convenient volunteer services at their doorsteps without leaving home, further enhancing the service function of Party organizations.
